I'm a sucker for Lightroom and Photoshop magic and have been having fun trying new techniques with my work! I love doing basic edits in Lightroom and more detailed edits in Photoshop.

Editing magic can take a photo from average to wow:

Photoshop magic is really just a series of layers and adjusting them and individual parts of your photo one step at a time.

I realized after joining Pinterest that I'm very drawn to Fall colors:

and warmth:

and I really wanted to start bringing a lot of that warmth into my photos. That is why I chose to change the leaf colors behind the little girl to a golden color instead of green and why her skin tone has a slight sepia to it.

Each photographer interprets a photo that suites his or her own style and this golden tone happens to be mine.

Where have you been Beba?!

I've been Missing In Action for a couple weeks now. Life was kind of put on hold until my sister and brother in law's first baby was born. They live in another state and I was constantly holding my breath for "the call" that my sister's water had broke and that Baby Justin was making his appearance in this world for the first time.

There were a few false alarms....texting in a frenzy to friends, but then sighing when it wasn't his grand entrance. I was beginning to think that he was taking his sweet 'ol time coming into this world.

But then..........July 1st at 5:00pm, it happened!

Her water broke and it was off to the hospital! I was going to have a nephew! My very first one ever! I was elated!

I never thought I could fall in love so quickly with such a little life, but I did when he was born the next day --it was like instant, "I love you!" when I saw him.

I can't wait to post pictures from the hospital and share this new little life with all of you. Now that I'm back to regular not-on-the-edge-of-my-seat-life, I'm also going to be back to blogging!

I have always loved Victorian times. I love the beauty surrounding the period and loved the clothing of the time even more. Call me an old fashioned soul, but I even love the way that women worked hard and hand-touched everything they cleaned, cooked or mended. I found this picture of a little girl I recently photographed and something about it screamed out "Victorian!" to me.

I love making pictures into works of art. Here is the original and the "artistified" {Um, is that even a  real word?! } version of it:
